August 15, 2007 Evening everyone, Robert has been very busy with training this week and it is now occurring everyday. Robert comments on his training that occurred on Tuesday... "The training course went very well today. I taught most of the day. The top Sudanese Police Official Commissioner Lazera Wani sat in on my classes again today (he did last week during On-The-Job Training also). Commissioner Lazera Wani stated he very much enjoys my classes and finds them very informative and exactly what his Police officers need. So that was good to hear." He intends to ask this individual for a written reference. I agreed stating these items are great for one's personnel file. On Wednesday's training..... "I have been teaching all day and was sweating out under the sun showing the Sudanese Police how to take proper measurements at a traffic accident or crime scene." He received four boxes from me on Tuesday so was very happy and is pleased to have a well stocked food supply on hand. He said he was the envy of all the other UN officers and they joked that it was clear he had someone at home who loved him as they never receive that many boxes. I laughed as most of them are divorced or are on their second or third wife. Robert said being having a fiancÚ is working in his favour. Robert shared that largest cargo helicopter model in the world landed in Yei on Tuesday. He did not get to see it but apparently two dump trucks drove out of it. Neat...He hopes it returns on a day when he goes to the airfield so he can get some pictures to share. He says hello to all. He is very curious to see how our little baby Aero is growing and I send him pictures a couple times a week. Aero also has play dates with her brother Yukon (a yellow lab) who lives in our subdivision by coincidence. Robert enjoys hearing about those updates and seeing the two of them playing together. That is all for now.... Paula
